What We Pay for Scrap Gold
Scrap gold is priced on the gold actually in the piece — karat purity × weight × the live spot price on the day you sell. We pay up to 90% of spot on the gold content for larger quantities, generally lots over 10 troy ounces of gold.
That percentage applies to the gold in the item, not its gross weight: 14k is 58.3% gold and 10k is 41.7%, so we weigh the piece, test the karat, and work from what’s actually there. We do it in front of you and show you the arithmetic before you decide — nothing leaves the counter, and there’s no obligation to sell.
Bullion is a different calculation and pays closer to spot: bars, rounds, and common government coinage are priced at spot minus a small spread. See how our pricing works.
